A White Alert has been issued for most parts of Maldives.

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a White Alert from Haa Alifu atoll in the northernmost Maldives to Thaa atoll in central Maldives. The MET has forecasted rain and thunderstorms, with strong winds of 19 to 24 miles per hour, gusts up to 50 miles per hour, and rough seas for these regions.

According to the latest data from the weather agency, Kaafu Atoll Gaafaru experienced the heaviest rainfall in the past 24 hours, with 67.7 millimeters. Baa Atoll Goidhoo recorded 61.2 millimeters, and Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll saw 20.5 millimeters of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

Despite the MET predicting bad weather for most parts of the Maldives, many people are traveling to different islands after the end of the Eid holidays.
